Down to Earth - Authentic - Compassionate - Empathetic - Patient - Kind
Holistic - Often times, coaches/counselors focus on one aspect of a person (physical fitness, poor nutrition, negative thought patterns, bad habits, poor self-image, negative feelings, etc...). I believe to attain true health & happiness, the body, soul and spirit must be brought into awareness, addressed and driven towards proper alignment. Initial sessions are devoted to collaborating with the client and assessing each of these three areas individually and comprehensively.
Person-Centered - I believe that the client-counselor/coach relationship is the building block and most important aspect of coaching & counseling. By offering a genuine, empathetic, non-judgmental approach, my clients are free to explore and address any issue they need to in order to grow. Through a safe environment, clients are able to express their true thoughts and feelings without guilt or shame.
Solution-Focused - Many clients prefer to focus on present and future circumstances and goals rather than past experiences. Even when past experiences are addressed, they are done so with a present and futuristic growth mindset of "moving past and learning from" rather than "staying stuck." I offer a GROW Coaching Model that focuses on Goals, Reality, Options & Way Forward accountability plans.
Strength-Based Approach - We all have strengths and weaknesses. I choose to focus much more on a person's strengths, resourcefulness and resilience rather than their weaknesses, failures and shortcomings. It is my goal to help clients break free from the branding society has given them and find their true, authentic self. You are so much more than your disability, diagnosis and/or life circumstance.
Find the RIGHT Fit the FIRST TIME!
There are many life coaches & counselors out there to choose from. Choosing a coach-counselor that fits your personal needs is crucial to transformational growth. The truth is people often go through several coaches or counselors before finding the right fit. When stress is already high, it is difficult to "shop around" for the right person. Working with coaches or counselors who do not line up with your values and personality, or who do not have the experiential knowledge you need, can not only cost you time, money and stress, but can actually cause more damage to your current state of affairs. I offer what is called a SOW session, 30-minute phone session, to make sure we are the right fit before coaching-counseling begins.
