Between Genesis 1 and Genesis 5,
I have learned a lot about God, and the the creation of earth and the heavenly realms. Genesis says a lot about earth, but doesn’t say much about the heavens. This is my focus as I read through the Bible again. I have also learned some about Satan, Adam and Eve, and Cain and Abel. I learned that Satan likes to tempt men and women, and that God cursed Satan and Adam and Eve, when they all went against him. I learned about the Fall, and how God used his mouth to administer the consequence; and I learned about the promise that was given to man and woman in the middle of the reprimand. I learned about the offspring of Satan, and the offspring that would come through the seed of the woman that would crush Satan’s head. I learned that Cain allowed anger to cause him to murder his brother, and I learned that God sent Cain to Nod, a place of wandering - a place far from God. I learned about Seth, and saw that the Seed of the woman would come through him. I learned about the two Lamechs, one that was bad and one that was good. I learned about Enoch, and saw that he was faithful and good, and God took him up to be with Him, without Enoch ever experiencing physical death. I learned about Methuselah, the oldest man to ever live - almost 1,000 years! And I learned that the chosen remnant would come through him. I learned there are two lines that came from Seth that are important to follow - the TIME line helps us to understand how long man has existed since the creation of Adam. And I learned about the BLOOD line that explains how the gene of faith was passed down. Now, in Genesis 6, we are going to see something really strange happening. The sons of God took human women and created offspring called Nephilim. Listen to this - “When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose.” Genesis 6:1-2 It’s not often that Pastors speak on this - I suppose they don’t want to scare people off. Can you imagine what would happen if people knew what was written in Genesis Chapter 6? They would probably say, "That is way too cray-cray!" But Moses shared this information for a reason. We should never exclude anything that was written in the scripture. We are foolish to leave the sons of God out! This is a glimpse into the heavenly realm! Who are these rebellious sons of God? The "men" who took women for themselves? Personally, I believe they are fallen angels, Rebellious spirit beings, who God created, who decided to follow Satan. I believe these spiritual beings were evil doers who took on physical forms. Much like Satan took on the shape of a serpent. These evil doers pursued human women, and married them - probably without their consent. Their disgusting behavior reminds me of what men did to the angels in Sodom and Gomorrah. Remember the men of Sodom, where Abraham’s nephew lived? The men wanted to have sex with the two angels who looked like men, when they went to save Lot from the destruction that was about to come. You can read all about it in Genesis 19:1-5. Yes, it is true. In the story of Lot, it was human men who wanted to have sex with angels who looked like men. It was not angels wanting to have sex with them. But we can obviously see that angels took on the appearance of physical men. It goes to show that angels can replicate human form. It’s crazy to think that humans and angels could mate. God did not intend for his two kinds of sons to become one. In Genesis 6 - “the Lord said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.” Well, so much for living 900 years, like most of the descendants of Seth! Our physical bodies would now deteriorate at a much faster rate! Our DNA would quickly breakdown, because God said so. “The Nephilim were on the earth in those days - and also afterward - when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown. The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.” Genesis 6:4-5 The one Nephilim that I most think of is Nimrod - He is said to be the greatest hunter to ever live, and he is the one who created Babylon! We will learn more about him soon. Moses wrote, “The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created - and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground - for I regret that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.” Genesis 6:1-8 It’s interesting to me that God was more upset by humans, than the behavior of the sons of God! This makes me think of Hebrews 1 and 2, where God distinguishes between the true Son of God, the angels and the human race. If you get a chance, go and read it. It's really good. We need to understand why God sent the flood to kill all of mankind. Evil intent had totally replaced the essence of the human heart! All that was good, had become completely bad - the human heart began to rot from the inside out. But God found favor in Noah. Noah, the son of the good Lamech. Noah, whose great- grandfather was Enoch, the faithful man who was taken up by God. The Lord kept his promise! He said, “the seed of the woman would crush Satan’s head.” The seed started with Adam and Eve, then it was passed down to Seth and here we see it flowing to Noah - the remnant of man that God kept.

Genesis 5 is all about the two Seth Lines -
the Seth Time Line and the Seth Blood Line, and both lead to Noah, and the promise of God - the seed that would come through the woman. The Seth timeline looks like this: Adam lived for 930 years, and then he died. Seth lived for 912 years and then he died. Enosh lived for 905 years, and then he died. Kenan lived for 910 years, and then he died. Mahalalel lived for 895 years, and then he died. Jared lived for 962 years, and then he died. Enoch lived for 365 years, and during his time he walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away. But before God took him, he had Methuselah who lived the longest of any human. Methuselah lived a total of 969 years, and then he died. Lamech lived 777 years, and then he died. When Lamech had lived 182 years, he had a son. He named him Noah and said, “He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the Lord has cursed.” After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham and Japheth.” Genesis 5:1-32 From these passages we can see the timeline of Seth that existed from Adam to Seth to Noah. Now let’s look at Seth’s Blood Line. There were 9 generations between Adam and Noah, including Enoch, who did not die, but was taken up by God. Also, it is so interesting to me that the descendants of Cain included many of the same names. It’s almost like a parallel universe. Lamech, the son born after seven generation of Cain, walked in the wilderness, as a nomad and vagabond, without God, and without a home. Lamech is the first man to take two two wives, and believe in his heart, that everything that he said was like God. This Lamech was definitely a little “g” god. On the other hand, Lamech, who was born to the line of Seth, the grandson of Enoch, the man who walked so faithfully with God that he was taken up without ever experiencing physical death. This Lamech gave birth to Noah, who also walked faithfully with God. Noah believed God, and did everything that God said, he even built a boat when there had never been rain; and he endured the scrutiny that came! God prepared Noah and his family, to be able to withstand the Flood. Isn't it promising that God is always saving a remnant! This Lamech lived 777 years - a number that expresses the fullness of God. If I had to guess the lifeline of the other Lamech it would probably be 666, the number of the beast. Scripture says, “This is the written account of Adam’s family line. When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God. He created them male and female and blessed them. And he named them “Mankind” when they were created.” Genesis 5:1-2 This poem is about the two Seth Lines: his timeline and his bloodline; the offspring of the woman that would crush the head of Satan. Both lines were spoken by the very Word of God. Friends -
Genesis Four closes with quite the ROAR! Hold onto your seats, while I explain some more! Do your remember Genesis 3:15 when God said to the serpent, “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” Genesis 3:15 Well, that is what this poem is all about! It’s about the Lord building his Kingdom through a child named Seth, and the men who came through him. Now hang on. Just wait a minute. I can only imagine what your thinking! “The Seed of the woman is God himself - who was created through His Spirit and a virgin woman, who came as the Son of Man named Jesus Christ.” But that only happened because men, began to call on the name of the Lord when Seth was born. The scripture says. “And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and named him Seth, “For God has appointed another seed for men instead of Abel, whom Cain killed.” And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Ē´nosh. Then men began to call on the name of the Lord.” Genesis 4:25-26 You see, Children of Cain had went astray, after Cain was cast aside and sent to a place called Nod. They wandered about the earth as nomads, without a Father or a home. But God! God kept his promise that the seed of the woman would crush Satan’s head! So God created a man named Seth. Take a minute to imagine Adam and Eve, and how they felt so ashamed when they disobeyed God. They experienced shame for the first time, and stood before the Lord completely embarrassed and totally broken. Yes, God did scold them. There was a consequence for their sin. But in the midst of reprimanding them, God supplied them with a Promise - the woman's offspring would crush the head of the serpent. When Cain and Abel were first born, Adam and Eve must have thought, “This is the One.” They must have wondered if one of their offspring was the seed that would crush Satan’s head. Can you imagine their heartbreak, when Cain killed Abel? Can you imagine being the parent of a son who killed your other son? And then, can you imagine your only living son being sent to wander the earth as a vagabond? Adam and Eve must have felt like God abandoned them. They must have felt like God does not keep His Word. So on the day that Seth was born, and then survived to have another child, named E'Nosh, meaning “Mortal Man” - Adam and Eve must have been so relieved - perhaps Seth's line would bring the promised seed. Seth knew he was not God. He even named his son, Enosh, meaning "Mortal Man." In a new position of humility, that is when men began to call on the name of the Lord. Imagine the thoughts of Adam and Eve - Perhaps the offspring of the woman would indeed crush Satan’s head - just as God had said! Written 9/17/21
After Cain killed his brother Abel, God heard Abel’s blood cry out from the ground. And even though Adam is Cain’s biological father, it was Cain’s Heavenly Father who delivered the consequences for what he had done. God said, “So now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. When you till the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth.” Genesis 4:11-12 And then Cain was cast out to Nod, a place east of Eden - where he would wander with no home or no father! Cain was afraid and said to God, “anyone who finds me will kill me.” But the Lord said, “Whoever kills Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a mark on Cain, lest anyone finding him should kill him.” Genesis 4:13-15 First, isn’t it obvious? Whatever God says is the law of the land. If we don’t like it, then “oh well!” God is sovereign. Everything created came from God's mouth - including us! And since God is alive and well, He is still speaking and carrying out His plan to restore Eden to Mount Zion and the New Jerusalem. Second, God’s blessings and curses typically carry a double portion, or “a sevenfold.” God said, if anyone kills Cain, God’s vengeance will be sevenfold. That means that if a human decided to inflict punishment or revenge for the injury or wrong that Cain had done, then they would endure a punishment delivered by God that would be greater than seven times the intensity of what they had done! God himself is the final judge! After Cain left his parents, and moved to Nod, East of Eden, he had children with his wife. From Enoch, Cain’s first-born son, to Lamech, his last-born son, were seven generations. And it seems the seventh generation was farthest from God. Lamech took two wives, became like a “god” and said “hear my voice.” According to scripture, his exact words were, “Wives of Lamech, listen to my speech! For I have killed a man for wounding me, Even a young man for hurting me. If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, then Lamech seventy-sevenfold.” Genesis 4:23-24 I got to admit, when I read this, I almost shit my pants! Holy Spirit revealed to me what it meant. I have read this passage a hundred times, and not once, until today, did I notice what took place! But Holy Spirit has been opened my eyes, Lamech, born from the line of Cain, became like a little “god” - and it only took 7 generations for a man to behave in complete foolishness. How did Lamech think it was wise to take two wives, when God clearly said “a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Genesis 2:24 How did Lamech decide that he would be avenged seventy times sevenfold? When did a man decide that he could administer a punishment that was God’s to give? And most importantly, when did Lamech think that what he says goes? Did he really think his words create, like God's? Perhaps Lamech was so far removed from God, that he only heard his own voice speaking in his head? He must have thought he had complete control to take God’s place and make it his own. Lamech Says - this should be a lesson for us all! Written 9/16/21
“My punishment is more than I can bear.” This is what Cain said to the Lord. Cain added, “Today you are driving me out from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I will be a restless wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.” Genesis 4:13-14 Oh Lord, I have a feeling that writing these poetic sermons is going to open up many heavenly doors! My curiosity about the heavenly realm, and about these interesting words - are going to make me dive in even deeper to explore the beauty of your Word. So here I go! Here is the first question I have for you, Oh Holy Spirit. How can Cain be driven out from the land, when that already happened to his mom and dad before Cain was born? Scripture says, “So the Lord God banished him (them) from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he (they) had been taken. After he drove the man (and woman) out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.” Genesis 3:23-24 First, I do not speak or understand the Hebrew pronouns, so I’m assuming if Adam was removed from Eden, then so was Eve because the Scripture says they became One. Second, the Lord placed an angel on the East Side of the Garden to guard the Tree of Life from mankind who had already shown they wanted to be like God. In this description, God says where the Tree of Life is. It’s on the East side of the garden, sitting firmly at the right hand of God, deeply rooted and can not be moved. Praise be to Jesus! So, here is next question, Oh, Holy Spirit - Since Adam and Eve had become One, and were removed from the Garden, and sent back to the dirt from which had come, then how is God sending Cain to Nod, east of Eden, where that is exactly where he seems to be coming from? Scripture says, “Then Cain went out from the presence of the Lord and dwelt in the land of Nod on the east of Eden.” Genesis 4:16 How Far East is not good? Where exactly were Adam and Eve put, and where exactly did Cain go? Where is the Garden of Eden - and where is Nod, east of Eden? Are these physical locations, or are these distances from God, or could they be both? If anyone knows, please disclose! I’ll save my next question for tomorrow. It has to do with vengeance and the meaning of sevenfold. Written 9/15/21
Yesterday I shared that Cain killed Abel, all because Cain had a hard heart and allowed his feeling of anger to turn into the behavior of murder. God had warned him not to let sin crouch in, and basically told him to repent for having a hard heart. The act of repentance would soften his heart, and this would enable forgiveness to come. But Cain would not. Instead, Cain took Abel’s life. When God heard the blood cry out from the ground, He said to Cain, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.” Then God told Cain “he was cursed from the earth, which had opened its mouth to receive his brother’s blood.” The “tiller of the ground” had lost his living. The ground would now be barren to him. In addition, and probably more importantly, God told Cain he would be “a restless wanderer on the earth” - with no Father or no home. Genesis 4:12 Can you imagine losing everything you love, all because you let anger seep in? I imagine Cain did not even know what love was, because if he had he would not have had a hard heart. When he brought God the offering that came from the ground, there must have been a selfish motive attached to it. All I can imagine is that God knew this, because God says the heart is the most deceitful of all. God wants our worship to be all about him. He wants us to love him and trust him more than we love and trust ourselves. Brothers and sisters in Christ, “Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous.” 1 John 3:12 You will know the condition of your heart by this - if you are able to lay down your life, just as Christ did when he loved you enough to forgive your sin. 1 John 3:16 If your heart condemns you, and you feel bitterness seeping in, then come before the Lord, fall on your knees and give it all back to Him. “God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.” He is strong enough to restore you. Dear friends, God loves you and has already forgiven you, for all the things you have thought and done, and will think and do. His desire is to bring you back to Eden - in a restored state. That is why He sent his beloved Son to come and die for you. 1 John 3:20 and Revelation 22 Only God can take away the curse that came from his own mouth. Only God creates the meaning of life and death. And God blesses those who truly know what love is. God gave his most precious Lamb to be the final sacrifice offered for all of human sin; to be the firstborn human, made from the fruit of the Spirit and the womb of the woman, who is not a murderer. Jesus laid down his life for His brothers and sisters. He did get angry, but He did not sin. He did not seek revenge through murderous intent. Instead He did the will of the Father, and He gave up his life. And now, “The blood of Jesus speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.” And all we need to do is repent, and believe that Jesus died for us. And that He sent the Holy Spirit to come and live inside of us. If you believe that Christ is the Son of the Most High God, and you believe in the most precious Holy Spirit if God, then you will understand exactly how pure our God’s love is. If this is you, “then you have come” to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven.” Hebrews 12:22-23 “You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.” Hebrews 12:23-24 Brothers and sisters in Christ- “See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” Hebrews 12:25-26 “The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken - that is, created things - so that what cannot be shaken may remain.” Hebrews 12:27 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:28-29 “Now Adam knew Eve his wife,
and she conceived and bore Cain, and said, “I have acquired a man from the Lord.” Then she bore again, this time his brother Abel.” Two men - where the younger would be chosen above the older. God certainly knows how to establish his order. It seems in God's eyes, "the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen." Matthew 20:16 “Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord. Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat.” “And the Lord respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.” This is part I did not understand. Why did God prefer the the fat of a lamb over the fruit of the ground? Then I read in between the lines. The Hebrew word for “respected” in this passage is sha`ah, which means “to look at or look to, to regard, to gaze at or about.” And that is when I realized that is was not about the offering, but about the type of heart inside the human. The next verse says it all - “So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.” The fact that Cain got so angry showed that his heart was NOT in a right position from the start. And instead of repenting and allowing God in to soften, Cain choose to stay hard. God gave Cain warning. He said, “If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door.” Let me ask you, What do think God meant by “if you do well?” I believe God gives us opportunities to strengthen our hearts, through all kinds of testing, trials and tribulations. He knows that this earth is not our home. But we need to remember that God is never the tempter! We do that all by ourselves and it is based on the condition of our heart. God already knows that sin is crouching at our door. Which is why He always gives choice. God's desire is for us to rule over sin, and have dominion over it. “Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.” And here we see the results of an unrepentant heart. A heart that allowed anger and bitterness to seep in. A heart that chose to take thing into their own hands, rather than listening to the Word of God. “Then the Lord said to Cain, Where is Abel your brother?” He said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?” Cain’s response reminds me of Adam’s, when Adam responded to God when He called him. Except instead of feeling shame and hiding, Cain’s response proved to be way more cynical and arrogant. Can you imagine saying to God, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” Acting as if a brother was not created to care for one another? I’m surprised that God did not open the earth and swallow him down! Instead God said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.” Here we see that God not only sees the intent of the human heart, but also hears the life in the blood that cries out from the physical ground. And this reminds me of the same evil deeds that King Manasseh did in Judah, when he sacrificed so many innocent children to pagan gods! Listen to this - “King Manasseh did evil in the sight of the Lord, according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel. Manasseh seduced Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to do more evil than the nations whom the Lord had destroyed” II Chronicles 33:2, 9 The Lord God raised up King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, to remove Judah from His sight because of the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he had done, and also because of the innocent blood that he had shed; for he had filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, which the Lord would not pardon.” II Kings 24:3-4 We must remember, the Lord’s Word is always good. It never leaves a stone unturned. Even though captivity came to Judah a couple generations later, it still came! To Cain God said, “So now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. When you till the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. A fugitive and a vagabond on the earth you shall be.” Basically this means that God is no longer with Him. Cain is a human without an eternal home. The story of Cain and Abel can be found in Genesis 4:1-12. I encourage you to read it for yourselves. Since the creation of humankind, God has let people know what He expects of them. And when we love God with all our hearts, we obey the LORD, because we trust in Him and we know that His commands are for our own good. Let us remember, the same opportunity that God gave to Cain to do right, and repent and soften his heart, is the same opportunity that God gives to us. He is always wanting his prodigal child to return home. But if we refuse to listen, the Lord warns us (often through poems like this) that sin is crouching at our doorstep, and is waiting for just the right moment to dominate us. Brothers and sisters, “submit yourselves to God and resist the devil, just like the Lord urged Cain to do, and the devil will flee from you." James 4:7 I ask you, Are you like Cain or Abel? Is your heart hard or softened? It is time to get right with God. After Adam and Eve
ate the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, “they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day.” Adam and Eve were ashamed. Their eyes had been opened to the physical world, and they didn’t want God to see what they had done, so they hid from God among the trees of the garden. The Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” Adam answered and said, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” God said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?” Instead of taking responsibility for himself, Adam pointed his finger at Eve, his wife. This is the beginning of the blame game, where a man and a woman point and blame. Adam said, “The woman you put here with me - she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.” Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” And the woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” Eve pointed her finger and blamed the snake! Isn’t this how temptation works? People like to blame Satan instead of taking responsibility for themselves. So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, “Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” This is the moment God spoke out the curse that would one day take out the whole earth. But In the midst of cursing them, man, woman and Satan - the Lord God made a way through the Seed of the woman - that would later be known as the remnant of Christ. Notice in this passage that Satan will do all that he can to strike the heel of God’s children, but God had a plan to save mankind. God planted His Seed in the womb of the woman, to crush the head of Satan, and all his children. To the woman God said, “I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.” In the cursed world, the one that we currently live (not the New Jerusalem) we see the effects of feminism and witness women trying to control men. We also see the opposite- men exercising authority and power over women. To Adam, God said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, “You must not eat from it,’ “Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.” Men would now be working hard, until the day they die, and return to the ground. Nowhere in the cursed world, does it say men will be going to heaven. God clearly states men will return to dust. Then the Lord God spoke to someone and said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” This is when humans lost eternity. But God made a Way for His Seed through the gene of faith. So the Lord God banished Adam from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. After he drove the man out, "he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.” Genesis 3:8-24 And this is when paradise was lost. Genesis Three tells the story of the Fall of Man. Someday when I go to Heaven,
I will know why Jesus is described as a Lion and a Lamb; and I will know why Satan is described as a serpent and a dragon. In Genesis 3, the serpent is introduced as “More crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made.” Nāḥāš, the Hebrew Word for "snake", is associated with divination, a supernatural way to practice spiritual knowledge and fortune-telling. Nāḥāš is also used in conjunction with Seraphim, a celestial being known as the “burning ones.” It's hard to believe that Satan was once close to God, and at one time, Satan worshipped him. I wonder if he was a seraphim? I'm guessing maybe he is not, because Ezekiel said, "You were an anointed guardian cherub. I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked." Ezekiel 28:14 I'm guessing Satan was once a beloved son, who stood at God’s throne worshipping Him. "You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle; and crafted in gold were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created they were prepared." Ezekiel 28:13 Can you imagine how beautiful Satan was - the day he was made these precious stones were created. But we do know this, the Day of the Lord is coming soon, and Satan and his children will be burning! Once in a while the Hebrew word Tannin is used, and the Greek word, Drakon too. These words describe the Antichrist Spirit as a sea monster who brings chaos and evil to the world! So, with this biblical, background knowledge, let us see what happens when Satan enters the scene in Genesis 3. The serpent said to the woman, “Did God really say, “You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” First, why did Satan approach the woman, and not the man? Could it be that because she came from Adam’s rib, perhaps she would have been more vulnerable to Satan’s question? Did she feel she was once removed from God? And why did the serpent start with “Did God really say?” He loves to put doubt into our heads! Did he know that humans would have an inner desire to be rebel against God? The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ ” It just amazes me that Eve knew exactly what God had warned them not to do! She fully understood the consequence of her decision, and yet, she still fell into temptation! And if you think that you can judge, well - I'm here to say you surely can NOT! You and I are not any better than Adam and Eve! We become entangled with sin every single day! I don’t care how righteous you think you are! “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” And this where Satan begins to twist the truth! He knew exactly what he was doing! He knew that anything not attached to God’s Word is completely evil. And yet, his sole desire was to put humans in a position to surely die! “When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.” The women immediately experienced temptation. The fruit of tree became tempting, and she ate it. Here’s the interesting thing - Adam was standing right next to her, and yet, he did not protect her. He did not tell the serpent to stand back or go away! He let the serpent approach her, entice her, and thus, Adam fell into the same old trap! “Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.” Genesis 3:1-7 I always found this last verse an interesting passage. When Adam and Eve fell into sin, their eyes opened and their thoughts, feelings, perspectives and behaviors changed. They felt shame, and they thought their nakedness was bad, so they hid behind fig leaves. This reminds me of the story of the barren fig tree, where Jesus was very hungry and saw a fig tree with leaves growing out of season. When he approached he hoped for some fruit, but it was barren. All humans exist in sin; for sin make up the very world we live in. No human is without sin. And yet, people hide behind leaves all the time. They make excuses, create defenses and rationalize. They do all these things instead of standing vulnerable before God, and repenting. God sees the serpent lurking inside you and me. He has x-ray vision, and He knows the intent of your heart! If it has not happened yet, it is time to repent and turn back to God. We must submit and bow before Him - before it is too late. We live in a world
where there is so much confusion. People don’t know if they are a man or a woman. Sex and gender has become one in the same. And alphabet soup is the game that is played. People believe they control their biology, and gender has shifted from a cultural concept to a physical condition led by doctors with scalpels and replacement hormones. The medical oath that doctors take is “Do no harm” - no matter what! And yet we see an exploding business, led by money and greed, in the medical community. And don’t get me started on APA, the American Psychiatric Association, and all the therapists who are culturally swayed. These are the people who encourage our children to live, love and laugh under delusional beliefs that are not real. We even have kids who identify as "furries" and they belief they are another species - and everyone seems to think that is okay! We have come to a place, called the end of age, where “what a man thinks” is more important than what God says. A man can be a woman; A woman can be a man; And a child can be anything they want - as long as their beliefs are affirmed. In today’s world, where many people walk blindly, marching to the beat of the anti-Christ spirit, a person who quotes from God’s Book of Instruction is labeled as an unkind, oppressive person. And when this happens, it's important for me to remember what Jesus said, “the world will hate you because they first hated me.” And yet, there are many people like me, who are willing to risk it all, to follow the mission the Lord has laid on their hearts. The Lord continues to give me words that I just can not contain. They come almost every day, like precious drops of rain. I am a counselor, and I love everyone, but I will not change the Word of God. I try not to speak harshly, and I lead with gentleness; I always leave room for healthy conversation. But I am submitted to God, and I will always say, “it’s God’s Word, not my own.” Let me ask you this - How are Christians supposed to be a light on a Hill, if we continually back down, and hide His Word? And how do we add salt to a dried up land, if we continually leave out Word of God? Where are the seeds that grow God’s trees? Where are the rivers that flow out of these? Don’t people know that Peace only comes when God is in charge? So why do we keep telling our children to follow their hearts, when we know “the heart is the most deceitful of all!” Jeremiah 17:9 God says, “My thoughts are higher than your thoughts, and My ways are higher than your ways.” Isaiah 55:8-9 So when will learn to trust and obey? With so much confusion and delusion in the land, don’t you think we should be seeking Holy Spirit understanding and wisdom? The problem is, it’s not just “the lost,” - it’s also the leaders, who teach the scripture, who are leading our children straight into hell! So many Pastors twist God’s Word, by focusing on human kindness and universal love. They leave out the verses that share God’s truth because they don’t want to upset everyone. You see, until a human gets over trying to control everything, and appease everyone, they will continue to quench the Holy One. 1 Thessalonians 5:19 God is the Creator who made the essence of man, and woman. He knitted us together in our mother’s womb. In addition, he separated us from the animals, so for a person to identify as a “furry” - is just another delusion of grandeur. How long are adults going to feed into falsehood? How long will "Christians" walk in deception? The Word of God says, “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.” He told the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” “Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name.” “So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals. But for Adam, no suitable helper was found.” “So the Lord caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh.” “Then the Lord made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” “That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.” “Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.” Genesis 2:15-25 Let’s face it, shame was not an emotion that humans endured, until the Fall of Man that happened in Genesis Chapter 3. Shame came into being when the first man and woman disobeyed God. And this all happened because they wanted to be like Him. End of Poem Special Note: Let me just say, this is a very hard post. I work with lots of kids and adults who struggle with these kinds of thoughts and feelings. I will always choose love over hate, and I will always honor a person where they are at. But, the Lord has placed on my heart the NEED to share His Word and the truth in love, no matter what! |
