Between Genesis 1 and Genesis 5,
I have learned a lot about God, and the the creation of earth and the heavenly realms. Genesis says a lot about earth, but doesn’t say much about the heavens. This is my focus as I read through the Bible again. I have also learned some about Satan, Adam and Eve, and Cain and Abel. I learned that Satan likes to tempt men and women, and that God cursed Satan and Adam and Eve, when they all went against him. I learned about the Fall, and how God used his mouth to administer the consequence; and I learned about the promise that was given to man and woman in the middle of the reprimand. I learned about the offspring of Satan, and the offspring that would come through the seed of the woman that would crush Satan’s head. I learned that Cain allowed anger to cause him to murder his brother, and I learned that God sent Cain to Nod, a place of wandering - a place far from God. I learned about Seth, and saw that the Seed of the woman would come through him. I learned about the two Lamechs, one that was bad and one that was good. I learned about Enoch, and saw that he was faithful and good, and God took him up to be with Him, without Enoch ever experiencing physical death. I learned about Methuselah, the oldest man to ever live - almost 1,000 years! And I learned that the chosen remnant would come through him. I learned there are two lines that came from Seth that are important to follow - the TIME line helps us to understand how long man has existed since the creation of Adam. And I learned about the BLOOD line that explains how the gene of faith was passed down. Now, in Genesis 6, we are going to see something really strange happening. The sons of God took human women and created offspring called Nephilim. Listen to this - “When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose.” Genesis 6:1-2 It’s not often that Pastors speak on this - I suppose they don’t want to scare people off. Can you imagine what would happen if people knew what was written in Genesis Chapter 6? They would probably say, "That is way too cray-cray!" But Moses shared this information for a reason. We should never exclude anything that was written in the scripture. We are foolish to leave the sons of God out! This is a glimpse into the heavenly realm! Who are these rebellious sons of God? The "men" who took women for themselves? Personally, I believe they are fallen angels, Rebellious spirit beings, who God created, who decided to follow Satan. I believe these spiritual beings were evil doers who took on physical forms. Much like Satan took on the shape of a serpent. These evil doers pursued human women, and married them - probably without their consent. Their disgusting behavior reminds me of what men did to the angels in Sodom and Gomorrah. Remember the men of Sodom, where Abraham’s nephew lived? The men wanted to have sex with the two angels who looked like men, when they went to save Lot from the destruction that was about to come. You can read all about it in Genesis 19:1-5. Yes, it is true. In the story of Lot, it was human men who wanted to have sex with angels who looked like men. It was not angels wanting to have sex with them. But we can obviously see that angels took on the appearance of physical men. It goes to show that angels can replicate human form. It’s crazy to think that humans and angels could mate. God did not intend for his two kinds of sons to become one. In Genesis 6 - “the Lord said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.” Well, so much for living 900 years, like most of the descendants of Seth! Our physical bodies would now deteriorate at a much faster rate! Our DNA would quickly breakdown, because God said so. “The Nephilim were on the earth in those days - and also afterward - when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown. The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.” Genesis 6:4-5 The one Nephilim that I most think of is Nimrod - He is said to be the greatest hunter to ever live, and he is the one who created Babylon! We will learn more about him soon. Moses wrote, “The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created - and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground - for I regret that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.” Genesis 6:1-8 It’s interesting to me that God was more upset by humans, than the behavior of the sons of God! This makes me think of Hebrews 1 and 2, where God distinguishes between the true Son of God, the angels and the human race. If you get a chance, go and read it. It's really good. We need to understand why God sent the flood to kill all of mankind. Evil intent had totally replaced the essence of the human heart! All that was good, had become completely bad - the human heart began to rot from the inside out. But God found favor in Noah. Noah, the son of the good Lamech. Noah, whose great- grandfather was Enoch, the faithful man who was taken up by God. The Lord kept his promise! He said, “the seed of the woman would crush Satan’s head.” The seed started with Adam and Eve, then it was passed down to Seth and here we see it flowing to Noah - the remnant of man that God kept.
