LUKE 19 (PART 2): A GOOD INVESTMENT

Can you imagine
a crowd of people
listening to every word
that Jesus said?

What would happen if every soul
absorbed the body of the Lord?

And even more,
what would happen
if we all believed
that the Inspired Word
held eternal mysteries?

The search for meaning
would unveil the key,
and the door to heaven
would open freely.

Would it be amazing
to have a hope so grand
that mortal death
could not hold you down?

Can you imagine a love
more perfect than this,
a private love letter
written to his bride of Jesus.

My God.
He is so good!
He speaks straight to my heart,
as a Father should.

It’s hard to believe
He is three in One.
He is Holy Spirit, Father and Son.

Imagine what could happen
if we all focused on Christ,
our names would be written
in His Book of Life.

He is the author
and perfecter of our faith.
He is the same today
as he was yesterday.

And this is what I thought of
when I read Luke 19,
where Jesus tells a story
to a captive audience
on his way to Jerusalem.

He told them a Parable
about ten servants
to correct the impression
that the Kingdom of God
would begin right away.

He said,
“A nobleman was called away
to a distant empire
to be crowned king
and then return."

“Before he left,
he called together

ten of his servants
and divided
among them
ten pounds of silver,

saying, ‘Invest this for me
while I am gone.’

“But his people hated him
and sent a delegation after him
to say,
‘We do not want him
to be our king.’

“After he was crowned king,
he returned and called in the servants
to whom he had given the money.
He wanted to find out
what their profits were.”

“The first servant reported,
‘Master, I invested your money
and made ten times
the original amount!’
“Well done!’ the king exclaimed.
‘You are a good servant.
You have been faithful
with the little I entrusted to you,
so you will be governor
of ten cities as your reward.’

“The next servant reported,
‘Master, I invested your money
and made five times
the original amount.’
“Well done!’ the king said.
‘You will be governor over five cities.’

“But the third servant brought back
only the original amount of money
and said, ‘Master, I hid your money
and kept it safe. I was afraid
because you are a hard man
to deal with, taking what isn’t yours
and harvesting crops you didn’t plant.’

“You wicked servant!’ the king roared.
‘Your own words condemn you.
If you knew that I’m a hard man
who takes what isn’t mine
and harvests crops I didn’t plant,
why didn’t you deposit my money
in the bank? At least I could have
gotten some interest on it.’

“Then, turning to the others
standing nearby, the king ordered,
‘Take the money from this servant,
and give it to the one who has ten
pounds.’ “But, master,’ they said,
‘he already has ten pounds!’

“Yes,’ the king replied,
‘and to those who use well
what they are given,
even more will be given.
But from those who do nothing,
even what little they have
will be taken away.”

“And as for these enemies of mine
who didn’t want me to be their king -
bring them in and execute them
right here in front of me.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭19:11-27‬ ‭

My God.
He does not play!
He does not care
what kind of excuses
you have today.

If you do not serve him,
then you are an enemy.
He will order your execution,
and it will happen immediately.

And if you call yourself a servant
yet do not invest
the life you have been given
into the Bank of Heaven,
then do not expect
to get anything in return.

And all that you have,
is really not yours.
Not your house, your car
or your vacation home.
Not your petty cash,
savings account
or retirement pan.
Not your business
nor your occupation,
nor you children or your spouse.
Not one inch of your life
is truly your own.

Everything was given
by the nobleman
to invest in the Coming King,
who rules over Heaven.

Yet many seem to think
this is not true,
but I’d like to ask you
whose thoughts do you pursue?

Are you like the servant
who acted out of fear?
Do you believe the lies
that you have heard?
Is Satan your master,
you know he is
the prince of this world.
Have you bowed down
and catered to him?

Or are you like the servants
who invested well,
the ones who made five
or ten times the original amount?

These are the men
who had faith to believe
that the nobleman
would return as a King.

To those who are listening,
what do you hear?
Do you understand this story
that came out of Jesus’s mouth?

It’s time to decide
if you are servant of God,
do you trust in him,
or do you trust in yourself?

I pray that no one listening
is an enemy of God,
but if you are
then I pray he will execute you now.

It’s time to think about
the meaning of your life.
Will you tell him you invested wisely,
or will you tell him
you followed your own feelings
and thoughts.

As I get ready to end this,
let me leave you with one more request -
Please remember that

Jesus came as a servant
but is coming back as a King.

So get ready
to give an account of your life,
for our spiritual
husband
will want to know

if you have been
a faithful wife.
