I can not believe
I’ve been writing poetry since December 14th of 2019. And now, here I am wrapping up Luke 24 - a 2 part sermon on “Christ is Risen.” After Jesus was taken down from the cross, and wrapped in linen cloth, He was placed in a tomb, that was cut in a rock. And the women followed Joseph - the rich owner - of the tomb to the place where Jesus would be buried. Then went home to prepare spices and perfumes, but they rested for a day, because it was the Sabbath. Early in the morning, the women got up and swiftly went to prepare the body of Jesus. But when they got there, they were left in awe, because the stone was rolled away and Jesus was not there. While they were wondering where His body could have went, two angels descended upon them. Two men appeared, quite suddenly dressed in shiny clothes that gleamed like lightning. Instead of speaking, and asking where Jesus was, the women became frightened and bowed their heads. Without asking questions - the angels knew their thoughts, and this is how they responded to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen!” Can you imagine this happening to you? The body of your loved one, mysteriously disappearing and two shining men, suddenly appearing - only to pronounce that your loved one has resurrected? It’s no wonder so many people think Christians are crazy and dumb! Without faith, it does not make sense! From Adam and Eve being made from clay to God giving life through his own breath; from frolicking in the garden, being totally content, to falling into temptation and accepting Satan’s request; from living in the blessing to enduring the curse, from suffering and hardship to eternal life through Jesus Christ; from bondage to freedom; and wilderness to blessed; from Genesis and Revelation and creation and death. None of it makes any sense! From the pouring of blood through animal sacrifice to the outpouring of blood through Jesus Christ From Noah’s Ark to Peter leaving the boat; from the staff and rod, to the Master and servant; from two by two to Holy Spirit in you; from the lost sheep to the multitudes; from Judges and Kings to prophets and priests, from Jews to Gentiles to angels and demons - I tell you all, it now makes perfect sense. From hearing in the Spirit to seeing visions and dreams, from casting our cares to raising His banner, victorious; from altars and bricks, and branches and trees, to sacrifice and dominion, and the burning of wheat; from hope and heaven to despair and hell; from God with us to the bell toll. From highway to Heaven, and great escapes to miracles abounding and the opening of gates. From Abraham and Sara to Ahab and Jezebel, from Sampson and Delilah to Boaz and Ruth; from Cain and Abel to mercy and grace. None of it makes sense... until you have faith. Jesus said, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!” These words only make sense to those who believe and have been given the ability to understand divine revelation. We have been taught that everyone goes to heaven, but the truth is, without Christ, we are already dead. God’s mercy and grace is provided purely from love. His heart’s desire is for His Bride to come home. He gave us His Son, as His mouthpiece- and its only Jesus that provides the key. He gave us His Spirit, to guide us into the truth, so that we could understand the difference between life and death. The truth is, we should read the Bible backwards. If we start with the end, maybe then we could get out of our heads. Maranatha would be everyone's motto. The truth is Heaven is coming - down to the earth, and when it happens, the saints will be resurrected. We will have new bodies, and our spirits will live. We will rejoice and worship our King and our Priest, Jesus Christ. We will be citizens of Heaven and we will never look back because the promise is abundance, and no longer lack. God will establish His Kingdom on earth, and no wickedness will exist to play tricks on us. All of the harvest will have been picked, and the fruit of the trees will never rot. Maranatha, My heart rejoices! Maranatha, The Lord is coming back! “Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” “Then they remembered his words.” “When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles. But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense. Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had happened.” Luke 24:6-12 What will you do with the words that you have heard? Will you think they are nonsense, or will you respond in faith?
