Oh, how the Lord loves songs!
Heaven is filled with praise and worship - it’s characteristic to the Temple of God. “This great choir sang a wonderful new song in front of the throne of God and before the four living beings and the twenty-four elders. No one could learn this song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.” Revelation 14:3 “And they were singing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb: “Great and marvelous are your works, O Lord God, the Almighty. Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations. Who will not fear you, Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous deeds have been revealed.” Revelation 15:3-4 The song of Moses is found in Deuteronomy 32, and it was written by the Lord right after He told Moses he was about to die. “And the Lord appeared to Joshua and Moses in a pillar of cloud that stood at the entrance to the sacred tent. The Lord said to Moses, “You are about to die and join your ancestors. After you are gone, these people will begin to worship foreign gods, the gods of the land where they are going. They will abandon me and break my covenant that I have made with them. Then my anger will blaze forth against them. I will abandon them, hiding my face from them, and they will be devoured. Terrible trouble will come down on them, and on that day they will say, ‘These disasters have come down on us because God is no longer among us!’ At that time I will hide my face from them on account of all the evil they commit by worshiping other gods.” “So write down the words of this song, and teach it to the people of Israel. Help them learn it, so it may serve as a witness for me against them. For I will bring them into the land I swore to give their ancestors-- a land flowing with milk and honey. There they will become prosperous, eat all the food they want, and become fat. But they will begin to worship other gods; they will despise me and break my covenant. And when great disasters come down on them, this song will stand as evidence against them, for it will never be forgotten by their descendants. I know the intentions of these people, even now before they have entered the land I swore to give them.” So that very day Moses wrote down the words of the song and taught it to the Israelites. Deuteronomy 31:15-22 God’s Word NEVER returns void! I pray the Lord would reach to the ends of the earth and pull His people back into His bosom. I pray for every Israelite to return home. I pray for the advancement of God’s kingdom and I stand on the promise that God’s Will will be done. I pray for every Gentile who does not know the Lord. I pray they would look up and stop being prodigal sons. I pray for the Church, the Body of Christ, that they would be the two witnesses of God. And I sing Maranatha as I prepare my heart and my mind for the Day of the Lord.
