(Updated Version - Spoken Word)
Do you have an Isaac? A birth I have promised, A creation for you to love, A hope for the future, sent from above? I know the waiting can seem forever, when my declarations are made, And not knowing all the pieces, can cause your trust to wane. But without patient endurance, you often act too fast, Faith is more than needed for my promises to pass. If your hope runs dry, and your faith begins to slip, Be careful not to substitute and try to make things fit! Taking random short cuts, to accelerate my plan, Spawns jealousy and sorrow, and affliction in the land. Don’t you know that Ishmaels are made when you try to force my hand Are you like Sarah? Do you hear my words? Do you believe what I say, Or do you laugh in disbelief, and turn and walk away? When you look to heaven, and see all of the stars, Do you feel small, like it’s not in the cards? When I promise offspring, from your barrenness, Do you believe that I AM, the God of unfailing love and faithfulness? When your ministry takes off and it begins to grow, Will you hold onto possession and become a one woman show? When your fame is thunderous and people are crowding in, Will vanity take over and allow pride to seep in? When your business has succeeded, and money is flooding in, Will the fruit of your labor cause you to sin? I ask you again, do you have an Isaac? A birth I have promised, a creation for you to love? A hope for the future, sent from above? When you have invested, all your time and energy, Into the plan you thought was meant to be, What will you do, when I say, “Give it all back to me?” Will you bow down and submit to my authority? When your child is rebellious, or your spouse has gone astray, Will you hold on tighter? Will you try to save the day? What will you do, when Isaac is in your midst? Are you willing to sacrifice, the one whom you love best? Will you build me an altar and consecrate your heart. Will you draw close to me and do not depart. Will you be my broken vessel with torch and trumpet in hand? Will you shout, “A Sword for the Lord” upon my command? Hard hearts must be broken, they are self-righteous ones indeed When you die to self, you exhibit the worship that I need Your spirit and your soul is divided by my sword. I discern the intentions of your heart, have you not heard? It’s right there in front of you. It is right in My Word! Your joints from your marrow, I cut with my knife. I send forth my fire, and consume the burnt offering of your life. I gave my Son to redeem you, as payment for your sin, Now it’s time for you to forgive others, just as you have been forgiven. I am searching the hearts of my people, and looking for the prone in soul. Those running to My river, the place where mercy flows. Will you lap the water and cup it with your hands, Or will you kneel down and be excluded from My plan? I am looking for souls who are aligned to My Spirit, “My will be done on earth as it is in Heaven,” can you hear it? I am not looking for men who stand on bended knee, This act of respect will be done by everyone, even my enemies! No, I am looking for those who are fully submitted to me! I search for those who have hearts on the ground, Who are ready to do my will! The few who have abundant faith and those who are still. I place my army on the platforms, so they can survey the land, They wait for my direction and they follow my command. They stand with anointing oil ready for their wick And they will not be distracted by the enemy’s tricks. My fire will be seen by all, it will confuse the enemy’s camp For the glory of God gives light, and the lamb is its lamp. It’s your time to walk, in Spirit and in Truth Surrender your hearts to me, so that I can bear my fruit. I’m wringing out my remnant, and I want you to know The hearts of my people are what I long to grow. Children of God, our Father wants to know, What will you do, when Isaac is in your midst? Are you willing to sacrifice, the one whom you love best? When God tests your faith, and your circumstances have you down Will you take the bait of Satan, or will you put on Jesus’s crown? Woven with thorns and brutally placed upon his head. The King of Kings and Lord of Lords, mocked by human authority instead Instead of honor and glory, given where it was due Sin tainted the minds of men and twisted all that is true. Our redeemer was crucified, an atoning sacrifice for our sin, He bore the burden of man, so that we could live eternally with him. Our Lord and savior was offered as a lamb, Yet He lives by God’s power, and as a Lion he will make His stand. Women of God, do not be afraid, when God puts you to the test Instead look to the Lord, He will provide, He is the God of unfailing love and faithfulness.
