I recently heard a Muslim evangelist
share with a Christian listener numerous Bible verses that appeared to be highly discrepant. The Muslim man appeared highly intelligent, and the Christian man appeared to be totally absorbed by what the Muslim man said. I could see the doubt that began to show on the Christian man's face when the Muslim man brought up foolish inconsistencies in the Word of God. It appeared like the Christian man’s faith began to wane. If I did not know the Word of the Lord and had not read His book end to end, over and and over again; if I had not been given vision and dreams that line up perfectly to God’s Holy Spirit; if I had not experienced the Hand of Jesus pulling me out of the pit and lifting me up to place me on the boardwalk; if I had not seen Jesus with my own eyes opening the door of the heavenly divide, then I also may have fallen for that Muslim man’s total bullshit! You see, one of the ways that man deceives himself, is that he believes he is smarter than God! The Muslim man appeared so proud that he was able to twist the Word of God. Unfortunately, there are many people who actually believe that God’s Word is full of lies. They like to dig deep into the scripture so they can pull out the knots of what scripture says. But what they do not understand is that if their hearts are hard and resistant to God, then the truth of the Word will not be opened to them. Just like the Muslim evangelist, they may think that God did not know what He was doing when He wrote the Holy Bible. They may think the Bible was written by foolish men who wrote down the words all by themselves. They may think that certain verses are in opposition, but it’s only because they have not been given spiritual eyes to see what the Word says. Most of God’s Word is read between the lines, and the Holy Spirit serves as our guide. Take for instance Matthew Chapter 5 and compare it to 2 John. Some would say the laws were worthless, because Jesus himself came to fulfill it. Others would say God’s laws were good because they help us to live according to His plan. So the question is - Is Jesus discrepant? Is Jesus tripping over His own Word? Are the prophets making most of it up? Do we choose Jesus or the Law? Jesus said, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:17-20 If that is true, then why does John say, “My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.” 2 John 1-3 Well, to know the answer one has to read on. There is so much clarity in what comes next. John also says, “And we can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments. If someone claims, “I know God,” but does not obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth. But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.” 1 John 2:1-6 Jesus fulfilled every one of God’s commandments AND He believed every prophet for what they said. Jesus loved man despite their sin, so much so that He came to die for them. Jesus ate with sinners and submitted to kings; He showed compassion for those possessed by demons. Jesus did not hide away in caves. Jesus settled storms and walked on the waves. Jesus loved Mary Magdalene, and the Gentile woman who came to the well. Jesus took the stones from the attackers hands, not with force or power, but through His words and the conviction that comes from the Holy Spirit. Jesus overturned tables when money was being exchanged in His Father’s House. Jesus went in and Jesus went out. Jesus taught God’s Word to anyone who would listen. Jesus healed lepers, conversed with tax collectors, and made men who fished fishermen of humans. Jesus died to self so that others could live. My friends - The Word of God is the sword of His Spirit! “The Word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.” Hebrews 4:12-13 Brethren - Do not let anyone shake you! There are millions of false prophets walking among us! It’s not just other religions that do this. There are so many people with hard hearts like the Muslim evangelist. There is so much twisted truth that has even infected the “church!” If anyone tells you that a priest is needed, because they are good and you are not - that they alone can stand between you and God, then they are a liar, and fit into the category of a false prophet! Do not believe them! There is no such thing as worshipping a man. There is no such thing as humans worshipping angels. For goodness sake - Read Hebrews; but first prepare your heart to hear from God. Come to His altar and lay your life down. Repent for the things that you have done wrong, and choose for yourself who you want to serve. JESUS IS NOT DISCREPANT! JESUS IS THE REASON YOU STILL HAVE BREATH!
