Dear friends,
What is love? If you had asked me this question ten years ago, I would have told you that love is a feeling that describes something or someone you are extremely fond of. I would have said that love is an affection that has no boundaries - a reciprocated kindness that is unconditional. I would have told you that love is non-judgmental, and that every truth should be accepted as the original. I would have also said that love is the truest expression of our good hearts - a desire or passion that motivates us. But now I know that love is a choice - a choice to believe God over my deceived heart; a choice to believe that Jesus was conceived by a virgin woman and God’s Holy Spirit - a sinner purified by God’s unfailing love and faithfulness in her womb. Jesus was, is and will always be the only child born into the world, who did not have a human father or an angel seed. He truly came as the Seed of God. God is faithful and good to His Word - He put enmity between Satan and the wife that He loves; between his seed and hers. God is faithful and patiently endures, as he waits for His children to grow. He is eagerly waiting for his ekklesia to become the new man that He foretold. The Seed of Christ continues to push through as the hearts of humans willingly choose to follow Jesus, by picking up their cross and dying to self. The Seed of Christ continues to grow into the Light. The new man is so beautiful! I have never seen such maturity! “The unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, is becoming the perfect man; to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” Ephesians 4:13 This is how true love continues to grow. Friends, "We should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head - Christ - from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.” Ephesians 4:14-16 “For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body - whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free - and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many.” I Corinthians 12:12-14 God is so good! Love is actually the doctrine of separation from this fallen world; Love is God growing in the New Man. God’s children are light, and they have been separated from the darkness through the blood of Christ, and the conviction and sanctification of His Holy Spirit. God is faithful. He is good to His Word. The New Man growing from God's Seed is in the process of stomping on Satan’s head, and withstanding the antichrist spirit as he bruises God's heel. Genesis 3:15 “He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.” I John 3:7-9 Does this mean man is without sin? Of course not! Man is fallen and lives in a sinful world. But God is pure love, and In Him, there is no sin! His blood covers us from all this wrong. Without Christ, we are truly void. We are walking darkness who has no light. There is nothing good in us at all - except Christ - the Seed of God. So what do we do? We repent and turn from our evil ways. We keep our eyes focused on Christ, the author and perfecter of faith and we reflect Him. God forgives. He blots out our sin as far as the East to the West; and because he forgives us, we must forgive men. Now does that mean we should continue to walk in sin? Of course not! Those who choose to sin do not have Christ living within them at all. And yet, the Holy Spirit was sent to convict us; to teach us and to guide us into God’s righteousness. This is the sanctification process of making us holy. This is the growing season that every Christian goes through. My friends, “God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.” 1 John 4 Brothers and sisters - let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love - not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. What is love? Love is God. Love is God choosing to send His Seed into His creation to create a New Man; a New Man who will live with Him in the New Jerusalem. Inspired by 1 John 4
