The second seal in Revelation 6
and verses 49-59 in Luke 12 have much in common. They both speak to the peace that is lifted. The Apostle John said he saw The Lamb of God open the second seal of the scroll. He saw Jesus release a bright red horse into the world. The Red Horse Rider was granted permission to take away peace from the earth. The Red Horse Rider was given a great sword, and men were permitted to slay one another. Revelation 6:3-4 From this description, I’m guessing the name of the Red Horse Rider is WAR. In Luke 12, we can see what Jesus wished for. Jesus said, “I have come to ignite a fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled. But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished! Do you think that I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I tell you, but division.” Luke 12:49-51 Jesus was sent by His Father to endure the Baptism of Blood. Whosoever believes that Jesus is the Son of God, the second Adam, the Life-Giving Spirit, is freely willing to be martyred. The dividing that comes from the Sword of the Spirit has everything to do with our belief systems. Jesus said, “From now on, five in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.” Luke 12:52-53 I believe that Jesus is stating some people will believe that He is King of the New Jerusalem, the Kingdom that holds the vessels of God’s Life-Giving Spirit; and some will not. The Greek word for martyr is martur, which simply means “witness.” This word became synonymous with dying for Christ because the early Church was often persecuted and/or put to death for their belief and witness to Christ. This great witness will come again. In fact, it is already happening. Just look around the world and what is happening with the United Nations. The true Jew and The true Christian actually have the very same mind and heart. They have a heart and a mind that is right with God. And true circumcision is not merely obeying the letter of the law; rather, it is a change of heart produced by the Spirit of God. A changed person seeks praise from God, not from people. This is the heart of every martyr. Jesus said, “No, I tell you, unless you repent, you too will all perish.” Luke 13:5 The real miracle that Jesus gave to us, was not healing, but His sacrificial death. Miracles happen throughout the Bible. We saw the plagues in Egypt, the manna in the wilderness, and people being raised, even from death. All miracles are an extension of God. But the truth is the greatest gift is that God kept His promise. The Seed of the woman would crush the head of Satan. “Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:1-2 Brothers and sisters in Christ - What will you do with this Information? Everyone is accountable for making their own decision. Do you have passion for WHO you believe in? Are you willing to stand on your belief system? The end is coming soon. The warning has been given. Jesus says to the masses, As soon as you see a cloud rising in the west, you say, ‘A shower is coming,’ and that is what happens. And when the south wind blows, you say, ‘It will be hot,’ and it is. You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and sky. Why don’t you know how to interpret the present time? Make every effort to reconcile with your adversary while you are on your way to the magistrate. Otherwise, he may drag you off to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and the officer may throw you into prison.” Luke 12:54-58
